The Habex project was very fortunate with sponsors at the time. Below are some of them and what they have done.

We are however looking for new sponsors to help with future launches. Also, if there are schools or educational or scientific institutions or individuals wanting assistance with launching experiments or the like to high altitudes, please contact us and we will see how we can help: -

RF Design have been very generous. Firstly, after having purchased 5 of their 2 meter transceiver modules, they donated a further 5 to complete the requirements for 10 boards for the schools launch. The “SHX1-144-5”  2 meter transceiver module are a 256 channel unit delivering 500mW of power. This module is mounted at the top of the board on the image below.

Also being sponsored is a GPS module using the UBLOX NEO 6Q. A total of 8 have been donated. This module was already utilised on the HABEX 2 test flight and is currently being tested on the latest "modified" HABEX 3 test board.

They have also given us some SMA pcb mount connectors for both the GPS and the RF units. These are SMA female Right Angle connectors. They can also be seen in the above board. To connect into these SMA connectors, 3 SMA Male Crimp connectors for RG-174/U cable. These are for the 2M antenna’s J-pole antennas.

Then also donated, were 3 active GPS antennas with SMA Male connectors already fitted.

Also providing assistance to the project is Afrox. As can be imagined, the gas needed for slights like this can be considerable. Afrox to date have donated all the gas for the previous two test flights and the tethered test at Sci-bono. Furthermore, they have already supplied a bottle for HABEX 3 and will be providing sufficient gas for the schools flights.

One bottle roughly fills 2 balloons, so the donation is considerable and very much appreciated.

The HABEX team would like to thank all its sponsors. Without your assistance, this project would have been much more difficult
