Flight data: -

All of the data below has been graphed by using GPSVisualizer. Go to www.gpsvisualizer.com. A truly amazing web site. You enter your data file and decide what you want. You are also able to take information like a trip to capetown from your Garmin and input it. It will then do these graphs as you like.

Below is a map view of the balloon path.

This is a depiction of the wind speed at the various altitudes. The wind peaked twice, once at about 12000 meters and again at about 34000 meters. The longer solid lines was the decent. I.e the winds on the way up were the same as on the way down.

Here is the wind based on its path. I.e. after traveling 60km its wind speed was 115km/h. So we could also say that after traveling 60km, the balloon went through 12000m.

Below is a profile of the altitude vs time flying.

And here altitude vs distance travelled.

This is the balloon climb rate. Not sure why the graph does not have a continuous line. However, it started its climb at about 2m per sec actualy going to zero at about 05h40 zulu. Progressively as it got higher, it accelerated to altitude.

Below is the exact same graph but now with the altitude (elevation) as the X axis intead of the time.

More still to come.
